[Review] Solider by Julie Kagawa ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summary:
The price of freedom is everything.

When forced to choose between safety with the dragon organization Talon and being hunted forever as an outcast, Ember Hill chose to stand with Riley and his band of rogue dragons rather than become an assassin for Talon. She’s lost any contact with her twin brother, Dante, a Talon devotee, as well as Garret, the former-enemy soldier who challenged her beliefs about her human side.

As Ember and Riley hide and regroup to fight another day, Garret journeys alone to the United Kingdom, birthplace of the ancient and secret Order of St. George, to spy on his former brothers and uncover deadly and shocking secrets that will shake the foundations of dragons and dragonslayers alike and place them all in imminent danger as Talon’s new order rises.

Review:

THAT ENDING!!!!!!! JULIE KAGAWA HAS DONE IT AGAIN, A HEART BREAKING CLIFF HANGER THAT HAS LEFT ME IN TEARS.

Honestly, every book that I've read by Julie Kagawa has made me. This is a wonderful writing quality that I hope other authors emulate. That is her signature writing. Every damn chapter has their own cliffhanger.

I know I haven't reviewed the first 2 books on this blog but I will try to summarize it the best non spoilerly way I can.

Ember and Dante (her brother) are dragons, hatchlings, raised in the confinements of the Talon in order to assimilate in human society. But with changing circumstances, Ember has now gone rouge and Dante has sided with Talon in order to get her back. Ember thought she knew the truth about Talon but Riley, a rouge who goes against what Talon believes in, has shown her the lies Talon has been keeping hidden for many years. She also meets Garret, a solider of the Order of St. George. He is trained to kill every dragon on site but his beliefs about dragons change when he meets Ember.

Overall I really like the premise of this series. It's action packed, nearly chapter is a cliff hanger, and the characters are relatable. It's evident Ember wants to believe that Talon is good but after she discovers the real secret *spoiler*, she can no longer trust anything Talon believes in, including her brother.

This secret is game changer. No one is safe.

Ember, Riley, and Garret have set aside their differences in order to put a stop in Talon and St George. They were successful until THAT ENDING THAT BROKE MY DAMN HEART.

Honestly, if you're in a reading slump, just read anything Julie Kagawa writes. I love this series. AND I hope who know who is *spoiler* and not *spoiler*.
